The purpose of thsi study was to determine whether there is a prevalent tendency for intermaxillary tooth size discrepancies among different malocclusion groups. The tooth size measurements were performed clinically. Six anterior maxillary and mandibular teeth were measured by electronic device to determined the Bolton anterior ratio. The total of 18612-year-old children have been selected randomly from the city of Lodz and the area. The value of the anterior ratio has been compared in the class I,II and III malocclusion cases. The ideal occlusal situation has been also taken into consideration. The mean value of the Bolton anterior ratio in the cases tested were: 1. Ideal occlusion 81,39, 2. Class 1 malocclusion 81,39, 3. Class II malocclusion 81,28, 4. Class 111 malocclusion 78,27 , P=0,215 Our data reveal no significant difference between the values of the Bolton anterior ratio, compared to 4 different occlusal situations.
