Kmeny Staphylococcus aureus secernují enterotoxiny (SAEs), které mohou působit jako alergeny a indukovat IgE protilátky, jež mohou způsobit zhoršení alergického zánětu. Tyto enterotoxiny mohou také působit jako tzv. superantigeny, modulující a/nebo amplifikující alergický zánět. Specifické IgE proti SAEs a enterotoxin – produkující kmeny Staphylococcus aureus, mohou mít vliv na tíži alergických onemocnění. Zajímalo nás, zda se pacienti s bronchiálním astmatem a přítomnými specifickými IgE proti stafylokokům v klinických charakteristikách liší od pacientů s nepřítomností těchto protilátek. V malém souboru jsme prokázali, že pacienti s přítomnými specifickými IgE proti komplexní bakterii Stafylokoka aurea (St. aur.) byli alergičtí na další inhalační alergeny, měli častěji opakované infekce dýchacích cest, sinusitidu, aspirinsenzitvitu a aktuální pozitivní kultivaci na St. aur. z horních dýchacích cest. Nelišili se tíží astmatu. Pouze u 4 pacientů z obou skupin byla prokázána slabá pozitivita specifických IgE proti SAEs.

Staphylococcus aureus strains secret enterotoxins (SAEs), which may act as allergens, induce IgE antibiodies and exacerbate allergic inflammation. These SAEs may also act as so-called superantigenes, modulating and/or amplifying allergic inflammation. Enterotoxin – specific IgE antibodies and enterotoxins produced by Staphylococcus aureus strains may have the influence on severity of allergic diseases. We were interested in the comparison from clinical point of view of the bronchial asthma patients with anti-staphylococcus aureus IgE antibodies with patients without these antibodies. In our small group of patients we found, that patients with specific IgE against complex Staphyloccocus aureus (St. aur.) bacteria, were allergic to other aeroallergens, had more frequent respiratory tract infection, sinusitis, aspirinsensitivity and smears positivity for St. aur. bacteria from upper respiratory tract. The severity of b.a. was the same in both groups. The low level of anti-SAEs specific IgE were found only in 4 patients from both groups.
