V práci sú analyzované výsledky chirurgickej liečby rhegmatogénneho odlúpenia sietnice (OS) u 73 pacientov (76 očí), ktorí boli operovaní v r. 2000. Sietnica sa po operácii priložila na 59 očiach (77,6 %) bez tamponády silikónovým olejom (SO) a na 17 očiach (22,4 %) pomocou trvalej tamponády SO. Videnie sa po operácii zlepšilo na 47 očiach (61,8 %). Zraková ostrosť 5/5-5/10 bola dosiahnutá na 16 očiach (21,1 %), 5/15-5/30 na 35 očiach (46,0 %), 5/50-1/50 na 19 očiach (25,0 %), horšia ako 1/50 bola na 6 očiach (7,9 %). Rozhodujúcim kritériomanatomickej i funkčnej úspešnosti liečby odlúpenia sietnice pri súčasnom stupni rozvoja chirurgickej techniky je časový interval od vzniku odlúpenia sietnice po termín operácie a prítomnosť a rozsah proliferačnej vitreoretinopatie (PVR).

We have analysed the surgery results of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD) on 73 patients (76 eyes) operated on in 2000. Retinal reattachment was achieved on 59 eyes (77.6%) without silicone oil tamponade (SO) and on 17 eyes (22.4%) with the use of permanent silicone oil tamponade.Visual acuity following the operation was improved on 47 eyes (61.8%). Visual acuity 20/20-20/40 was reached on 16 eyes (21.1%), 20/60-20/120 on 35 eyes (46.0%), 20/200-4/200 on 19 eyes (25.0%), worse than 4/200 on 6 eyes (7.9%). Based on contemporary surgical technique the most important criterion of anatomical and functional success with the retinal detachment treatment is the time between RD onset and the time of the surgery, as well as the presence and extent of proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
