Přehledných článků o sartanech již bylo v minulosti publikováno poměrně značné množství a pro čtenáře jsou obvykle náročné pro svůj rozsah. Cílem tohoto přehledu je podat velmi hutnou informaci o vlastnostech sartanů, a to i za cenu určitých zjednodušení. Uvedeny jsou chemické struktury jednotlivých sartanů, jejich základní farmakodynamické a farmakokinetické vlastnosti, aspekty spojené s bezpečností terapie sartany a klinická účinnost. V přehledu nechybí ani základní informace o ekonomické náročnosti terapie v ČR a v zahraničí.

A number of review articles on sartans are available, but most of them are too extensive to be reader friendly. The purpose of this review is to provide comprehensive information about the properties of sartans, even at the expense of simplification. Chemical structure , basic pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic characteristics, rules of safe use and clinical efficacy are given for each of the sartans. General information on the cost of this treatment in the Czech Republic and in other countries is also presented.
