Approximately 10–15% of couples in developed countries are childless. Infertility treatment has become one of the most progressive medical fields in last decades. Assisted reproduction has its serious supporters as well as opponents. Unnatural conception has many ethical dillemas that are not obvious and many people do not think about them. The article addresses some problems related to assisted reproduction, presents results of foreign studies of public opinions and results of a small scale survey among healthcare workers and young people in Czech Republic.
