Současné statistiky dětských úrazů jsou přímo alarmující. Proto by mělo být v zájmu nás všech tuto situaci řešit a kladně ovlivnit. Úrazy jsou nejčastější příčinou úmrtí u dětí, dospívajících a mladých dospělých jedinců. Problematika úrazů dětí představuje vážný zdravotně sociální problém. V poslední době se výrazně změnila i koncepce zdravotnictví, vzdělávání a postavení sester. Vhodná edukace dětí sestrami by mohla kladně ovlivnit počty úrazů u dětí. Cílem průzkumu bylo zjistit, zda jsou sestrami realizovány edukační programy prevence úrazů u žáků základních škol. Dále pak na základě analýzy získaných odpovědí od dětí staršího školního věku zjistit, zda jsou žáci dostatečně informováni o prevenci úrazovosti dětí a jaké jsou zdroje jejich informací.

Contemporary statistical data on children accidents are just alarming. Thus, we should be interested in a solution of the situation to affect it positively. Accidents are the most frequent cause of the death in children, adolescents and young adult individuals. The problem of children accidents presents a severe health-social issue. Concepts of health services and education and position of nurses was recently considerably changed. Suitable education of children by nurses could positively affect the accident rate in children. The target of the survey was to find, whether nurses implement educational programmes of the prevention of accidents in pupils of primary schools. After that, based on the analysis of the answers acquired from children of the older school age, it should be established, whether the children are sufficiently informed about the prevention of accidents and what the sources of their information are.
