Specifická alergenová imunoterapie je léčebný postup, při kterém jsou do organismu alergika postupně vpravovány vzestupné dávky alergizující látky s cílem snížit aktivitu symptomů navozených expozicí příčinného alergenu. Specifická alergenová imunoterapie navozuje vznik klinické i imunologické tolerance, má dlouhodobý léčebný účinek a může působit prevenci progrese alergického onemocnění. Zlepšuje kvalitu života alergických pacientů.

Allergen-specific immunotherapy is the practice of administering gradually increasing quantities of an allergen product to an allergic subject to ameliorate the symptoms associated with the subsequent exposure to the causative allergen. Allergen-specific immunotherapy induces clinical and immunologic tolerance, has long-term efficacy and may prevent the progression of allergic disease. Allergen-specific immunotherapy also improves quality of life of allergic patients.
