Cluster headache is a primary headache disorder that is marked by repeated short-lasting attacks of severe, unilateral head pain and associated autonomic symptoms. Cluster headache is probably due to an abnormality in the hypothalamic region with subsequent trigeminovascular activation. Symptomatic treatment and prophylactic medication in a cluster headache period are described. Next the two case reports of cluster headache patients are described. First patient with typical episodic cluster headache, the second patient suffering from chronic type of cluster headache.
