Angiogeneze je proces, který má zásadní význam pro růst nádoru, invazivitu a metastazování. Inhibice angiogeneze se tedy může uplatnit v komplexní léčebné strategii nádorů. Je popsán mechanismus angiogeneze a podrobněji je zmíněna úloha VEGF a jeho receptorů a jsou popsány i další antiangiogenní strategie.

Angiogenesis is a process which is critical for the growth, invasion and metastasis of tumors. Inhibition of angiogenesis has an important role in the complex treatment strategy of tumors. The role of VEGF and its receptors is described in details, but other antiangiogenic strategies are also reviewed.
