Článek analyzuje sport z fenomenologického hlediska, směřuje k autentickým kořenům tohoto podstatného kulturního fenoménu. Filozofie olympijských her je srozumitelná prostřednictvím hermeneutického významu počátku z Heideggerova hlediska (der Anfang). Tento počátek nemá vývoj, proto mluvíme o aletheii (pravda jakožto neskrytost). Olympijské hry uctívají celek (Hieros Gamos). Agon není boj, ale střet a my můžeme "vidět" celek v našem myšlení a představách. Sportovní výkon odkrývá toto porozumění. Fenomén Medusiny hlavy ukazuje nám jen protiklady Země a nebes (Gai a Urana). Gaia a Uranos jsou symboly našeho těla a naší duše. Oba prezentují jednotu kalokagathie.

The article analyses the phenomenon of sport from the philosophical point of view, against the background of the authentic roots of this essential cultural phenomenon. Aidos, deinos, aletheia. Philosophy of the Olympic Games is understandable from hermeneutical signification of the beginning in Heideggerian´s point of view (der Anfang). This beginning has no evolution because its existence is every time for the first time (original). That´s vhy we have to speak about aletheia (truth) as uncovering. The Olympic Games venerate the whole (Hieros Gamos). Agon is no fight, but it is the clash and we can "see" the whole in our thinking and images. The performance in sport uncovers this understanding. Phenomenon of Medusa´s head shows to us only the antithesis of the Earth and Heaven (Gaia and Uranos). Gaia and Uranos are symbols of our body and of our soul. Both present a unity in Kalokagathia.
