Liečba detí s diabetes mellitus typ 1 inzulínom glarginom (lantus) [Therapy of children and adolescents with diabetes mellitus type 1 with glargine insulin (lantus)]

Cieľ: Zistiť účinnosť a komplianciu liečby bazálnym inzulínovým analógom glarginom (Lantus Aventis) s kontinuálnym 24-hodinovým uvoľňovaním inzulínu u detí s diabetom typu 1 (DM1). Pacienti a metódy: 26 pacientov (12 chlapcov a 14 dievčat), vek 13,6 ± 0,7 roka. Účinnosť liečby sme stanovovali po 2 a 3 mesiacoch liečby. Výsledky a závery: Aplikácia Lantusu deťom s DM1 zlepšila glykémie i koncentrácie HbA1c už po 2 a 3-mesačnej aplikácii. Liečba týmto analógom bola dobre znášaná a 91 % pacientov bolo s touto liečbou spokojných.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of a new long-acting basal insulin, insulin glargine (Lantus Aventis) in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (DM1). Data (glycemia, hemoglobin A1c, compliance of the therapy) from 26 patients (12 boys, 14 girls) with mean age 13.6 ± 0.7 yrs were evaluated after 2 and 3 months. Application of the insulin glargine improved glycemic control (decrease in glycemia and HbA1c) and patients were very satisfied with the therapy.
