V práci je podaný podrobný prehľad princípov liečby gestačných trofoblastových tumorov s dôrazom na optimalizáciu výberu chemoterapie podľa rizika, ktoré umožňuje dosiahnuť remisiu ochorenia pri čo najnižšej toxicite. Diskutuje sa o výsledkoch liečby v Centre pre gestačnú trofoblastovú chorobu Slovenskej republiky, ktoré sú za 20 rokov lepšie než v mnohých centrách, a to najmä pre použitie alternujúcich režimov v liečbe nízkorizikového ochorenia (kurabilita 100 % v I. a II. štádiu, 96 % v III. štádiu). Celková kurabilita gestačných trofoblastových tumorov bola v Slovenskej republike 95 %.

This is an overview of treatment strategies for gestational trophoblastic tumours. With the selection of appropriate chemotherapy it is feasible to achieve a complete remission with the least amount of morbidity. Our 20 years results are better than in other centres, especially due to alternating regimens used in the treatment of the low-risk disease (curability 100 % in the stage I and II, and 96 % in the stage III). Total curability rate of gestational trophoblastic tumours in the Slovak Republic was 95 %.
