Autoři popisuji metodu katetrizace dolních petrózních a kaveiiiózních splavů s použitím koaxiálního systému mikrokatetrů. Katetrizace s odběry vzorků krve z oboustraimých dolních petrózních splavů byly provedeny u 6 nemocných s Cushingovou nemocí. Částečná embohzace kavernózních splavů byla provedena u 3 nemocných s nřímou a u 2 nemocných s nepřímou KKP. Ve všech případech byly použity mikrokatetry 2,5F/3.0F (TARGET nebo COOK). V 1 případě byl mikrokatetr k embohzaci nepřímé karotidokavernózní píštěle zaveden přes horní oftahnickou žílu po její chiinirgické preparaci.

A method of catheterization of the inferior petrosal and cavenious sinuses using coaxial microcatheters is described. Catheterization and blood sampling of bilateral inferior petrosal sinuses were performed in 6 patients with Cushing's disease. Partial embolization of the cavernous sinus was attempted in 3 patients with a direct and in 2 patients with an indirect carotid cavernous fistula. In all cases microcatheters 2,5/3.0F (TARGET and COOK) were used. In one case the microcatheter for embolization of an indirect carotid cavernous fistula was introduced through the superior ophthalmic vein after its surgical exposure.
