Článek informuje o významu standardizace pro medicínskou informatiku. Podrobně je popsána činnost a organizační struktura významných organizací (ISO, ANSI, EWOS, CEN), zabývajících se standardizací. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována technické komisi pro medicínskou informatiku CEN/TC251, kde je popsána činnost jednotlivých pracovních skupin.

The article describes importance of standardization in medical informatics. Activity and arrangement of important organizations, working in standardization process is described in detail. Activities of working groups of technical committee for medical informmatics CEN/TC251 are described as well.
