Je objasněn vztah mezi alergeny a alergenovými extrakty. Zvažována je otázka, zda je účebé uvažovat o individuálních alergenech užívaných ke stanovení diagnózy a léčbě alergu a pri standardizaci komerčně vyráběných alergenových extraktů. Jako odpověď na tuto otázku jsou uvedeny definice hlavních alergenů, doplněné konkrétními příklady. Podle uvedené definice je kvantifikace (individuálních) hlavních alergenů pro standardizaci komerčně vyráběných alergenových extraktů velmi důležitá. Nakonec jsou popsány běžně používané techniky kvantifikace hlavních alergenů a je diskutováno o možnostech porovnání jejich výsledků.

In the beginning ofthe following discussion is described the relation between allergens and allergenic extracts. Then, the question is raised to know whether the consideration of individual allergens is of importance in the standardization ofthe comercial allergenic extracts that are intended for allergy diagnosis and treatment. To answer this question, a definition for major allergen(s) is proposed and illustrated by concrete examples. According to this definition, the quantification of (individual) major allergens appears to be very important in the standardization of commercial allergenic extracts. At last, the different techniques that are commonly used for quantifying major allergens are described, and the possibiUty to compare the results obtained by those different techniques is discussed.
