Background: This study focuses on sports fandom, consumption and socialization in the role of a sports fan. Objective: The study aimed to analyze the international differences between Polish sports fans and those in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Greece, Norway, and Qatar, based on a comparison of the results of studies using the same research methodology. Methods: The research utilized the Sports Fandom Questionnaire (SFQ) and the Sports Spectator Identification Scale (SSIS) concerning fan-related behaviors and socialization in the role of a sports fan. A total of 286 Polish students were surveyed (53% male and 47% female, mean age of 21.3 years). Results: Investigated students strongly identified with the role of being sports fans. Males demonstrated a significantly higher level of sports fandom than females. Male socialization agents for sports fandom and consumption, particularly fathers, were important for both genders. Both genders were less likely to watch women's sports and mainly followed men's sports. Polish women ranked second on the SFQ (27.69) and the SSIS (37.15) among the compared national surveys and their average SFQ and SSIS scores indicate strong identification with the role of being a sports fan. Polish women, like British women, indicated school and parents as the most influential fan socialization agents, while data from other countries pointed rather to the role of community and friends. Conclusions: As in all other national samples, indirect sports consumption precedes direct consumption, and watching sports on television is the most common form of sports consumption in the media. Moreover, male dominance in sports fandom patterns and the role of a sports fan was evident in both males' and females' responses. That is why the male socialization agents may impact the creation of the identity role the most.

Profesionálna socializácia študentov ošetrovateľstva začína vstupom do študijného programu a pokračuje vstupom do pracovného procesu.
Professional identity is considered a central phenomenon of an individual’s professional development, integrating attitudes and behaviors related to the profession. It is developed and shaped in the process of socialization. By socialization, we understand the gradual integration of an individual into society through imitation and identification, first in the essential (nuclear) family, then in small social groups, up to participation in the broadest, society- wide relationships. It is a process of social learning in which individuals learn their own society’s culture and are formed as a social and individual personality. Socialization represents a lifelong process. If we talk about professional socialization, then it is a systematic socialization process that continues throughout an individual’s life. Socialization in the profession is a key part of secondary socialization. The professional socialization of nursing students begins with the entry into the study program and continues with the entry into the work process. Professional socialization is a critical aspect of the development of nursing students. It is an intended but also an unintended consequence of the educational process and the acquisition of work experience.

Závěr: Prevence negativních sociálních jevů začíná v rodině, a to dlouho předtím, než dítě dosáhne věku, kdy začne být těmito jevy ohroženo. Za nespecifickou prevenci můžeme považovat zejména způsob výchovy v rodině, kde se rozvíjí vzájemná důvěra a bezpečí a dítě má pevné zázemí a rozvíjí vhodné vzorce chování.
Background: From the point of view of social learning and the socio-environmental perspective, alcohol abuse in parents appears to be an essential risk factor for later drinking problems in children. Such behavior is directly related to the initiation and continuation of substance abuse through genetic influences and passing on the patterns of behavior. The frequency of alcohol consumption depends on the behavior patterns, while the variables of the child's age and gender also play their role. In particular, early initiation into drinking is considered riskier. Aim: To analyze the connection between the frequency and amount of alcohol consumption by children and the patterns of alcohol consumption among persons who are responsible for their upbringing. Research sample: In terms of age and sex, a representative child population (n = 2948); males (1492; 50.61%) and females (1456; 49.39%) aged 6-17 years. Methods: An online research tool developed within the Social Survey Project platform. The statistical significance was tested using the χ2 statistic for two-dimensional (C×R) contingency tables. Results: Alcohol consumption in the presence of children is related to the amount of alcohol consumed. Children of abstainers, who do not drink in front of their children, or who consume alcohol to a limited extent, are more likely to not consume alcohol at all. Large quantities of alcohol are consumed by children whose parents often drink in their presence. For children aged 15-17, alcohol consumption is not related to its availability at home if they consume it in small quantities. Conclusion: The prevention of negative social phenomena starts in the family, long before the child reaches the age when he or she begins to be threatened by these phenomena. As a non-specific prevention, we can, in particular, perceive the method of upbringing in the family, where mutual trust and safety are developed, and the child has a solid background and develops appropriate patterns of behavior.

Relationships among siblings play a crucial role in early socialization and further social development. Siblings inherently belong to the system of family relationships; their observation without involving parent-child bonds, is to some extent, generalization. Therefore, our research analyzes with mutual connections between parenting styles and the characteristics of siblings' relationships in a family using a quantitative design of data collection and processing. The outputs from the Sibling Relationship Questionnaire and Questionnaire of Parenting Styles in a Family were collected from 264 bachelor's students. The study found the overall associations of positive emotional relationships and freedom provided by parents with generally desirable characteristics of siblings' bonds and vice versa, and associations between negative emotional relationships and requirements with negatively perceived traits of siblings' bonds. The unexpected outcome of our research is that it revealed more connections between paternal parenting styles and the characteristics of sibling relationships than with those of maternal parenting styles. To reflect the complexity of these relationships more precisely, complex structural equation models were created and successfully adjusted.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) among university students is a prevalent problem in many countries; however, it is not currently recognized in Kosovo as a social issue in terms of research, prevention, and intervention. The aim of this article was to examine the relationship between violence socialization experiences, approval of violence, and IPV perpetration/victimization among university students in Kosovo. The questionnaires were administrated to a convenience sample of 700 students of University of Prishtina who were in relationship for 1 month or longer. The Revised Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS-2) was used for measuring physical, psychological, and sexual violence, whereas for measuring violence socialization and violence approval, scales from Personal and Relationships Profile (PRP) were used. Findings from this study show that there were statistically significant gender differences in terms of socialization and approval of violence among university students. Similarly, perpetrators and victims of IPV (physical, psychological, and sexual violence) showed higher rates of socialization of violence and tolerance toward IPV. Besides, findings indicate that approval of violence mediates the relationship between socialization of violence and IPV perpetration and victimization, for both genders. The implications of the current findings within a cultural context are also discussed.
