Introduction: Gravidity of juvenile mothers in the Roma community is becoming a serious issue, proved by statistics showing birth numbers in girls until the age of 14, and from 15 to 19 years of age. Pregnancy and delivery in adolescent age mean risks and complications for mother and child. Biological maturity of women to get pregnant does not mean emotional maturity and ability to care of a child. The risky environment is that of marginalized communities with lower socio-economical level. Aim: The aim of the study was to map attitudes of adolescent mothers from the Roma community to pregnancy after its confirmation, during the course of pregnancy, and with some time delay after the childbirth. Methodics: The method of data collection was a semi-structured interview. The data collection took place in November 2019. The survey was taken by four respondents – first time mothers coming from well-known Roma ethnicity communities in the eastern Slovakia living in common household with fathers of their children. The interviews were carried out after the written consent of the respondents' legal representatives, in the home environment and rooms of community centre. Data analysis with themes and subthemes formulation was carried out using thematic analysis. Results: All the respondents took positive attitudes towards pregnancy that had been planned, what they presented during the pregnancy by keeping healthy dieting and attending medical examinations. After some time delay following the childbirth, they admit they did not have to be pregnant so early after starting sexual life. In their opinions the suitable time for pregnancy is after reaching the adult age. Three respondents gave births as 16 years old, and one did not reach the age of 15. Summary: After learning about pregnancy, the Roma adolescents receive support from their relatives and their own community. In the quality study we have carried out, the young mothers in spite of positive attitude to pregnancy admit that the right time for pregnancy is after reaching the adult age.
