Autor seznamuje s principy klinické gerontologie zabývající se problematikou stárnoucího a starého člověka. Vymezuje kategorie: zdravý senior, nemocný starý člověk a geriatrický pacient, které mají mnoho společného a jejich vymezení nemusí být vždy jednoznačné. Zdůrazněn je diferencovaný pohled.

The author presents information on the principles of clinical gerontology concerned with the problem of ageing and old subjects. It defines the categories: healthy senior, sick old person, and geriatric patient which have much in common and their defmition is not always unequivocal. A differentiated view is emphasized.
