Prodlužování lidského věku vyvolává nutnost orientace na potřeby stomatologického ošetřování starší a staré populace.Tato věková skupina má své specifické problémy s orálním zdravím,jejichž poznání je velmi důležité pro formulaci koncepce prevence i terapie ve stáří. Jednou ze základních podmínek pro řešení této problematiky je znalost epidemiologické situace orálního zdraví starších jedinců v dané oblasti.Autorka se zabývá analýzou stavu chrupu u skupiny klinických pacientů starších 60 let,zejména s ohledem na počet zachovaných vlastních zubů,hodnoty K+P+E,stav hygieny ústní dutiny a stav parodontu,jakož i úroveň protetické sanace.

The extension of human age calls for orientation on the needs of dental care of the elderly and old population.This age group has its specific problems as regards oral health. Their knowledge is very important for the formulation of the concept of prevention and therapy in old age.One of the basic prerequisites for solving this problem is knowledge of the epidemiological situation of oral health of elderly subjects in a given area.The author analyzes the state of dentition in a group of clinical patients above 60 years of age in particular with regard to the number of preserved own teeth,the DMF value ,hygiene of the oral cavity and state of the periodontium as well as the standard of prosthetic treatment.
