Kaposiho sarkom je neustále předmětem intenzivního výzkumu a zájmudermatologů. V poslednídobě byla odhalena důležitá - ne-li zcela zásadní - role HHV-8 při jeho vzniku a rozvoji. Práce v prvníčásti podává ucelený přehled současných poznatků, týkajících se problematiky Kaposiho sarkomu -především se zaměřením na jeho klasickou formu.

Kaposi sarcoma is still the object of intensive research and interest of dermatologists. Recently,there has been discovered an important, if not fundamental, role of HHV-8 in its origin anddevelopment. Part one of the paper deals with an integral review of present knowledge regardingthe problem of Kaposi sarcoma - foremost its classical form.
