Ve vztahu atypických bakterií a průduškového astmatu je diskutovaná řada otázek. Může být infekce těmito bakteriemi příčinou rozvoje astmatu a jeho exacerbace? Jsou astmatičtí pacienti vnímavější k chronické infekci těmito bakteriemi? Má tato chronicita vztah k tíži astmatu a ireverzibilitě obstrukce? Je tato infekce dostupná dokonalé eradikaci? Tento přehled informuje o publikovaných studiích, které se snaží tyto otázky zodpovědět. V závěru uvádíme výsledky sledování malého souboru pacientů s chronickým astmatem v době exacerbace onemocnění s cílem prokázat vztah exacerbace k akutní infekci atypickými bakteriemi.

A lot of questions are discussed concerning the relationship between bronchial asthma (BA) and atypical bacteria. Can acute infection by these bacteria cause a development and exacerbation of BA? Are asthmatics more sensitive to chronic infection by atypical bacteria? Is there some association between chronic infection of the airway and asthma severity and irreversibility of the airway obstruction? Is this infection accessible for full eradication? This review informs about published studies that are answering these questions. At the end we present data from our observation of the small group of patients with chronic asthma to prove that acute atypical bacteria infection is related to the asthma exacerbation.
