Podávání tyreostatických dávek radiojodu - 131I je metodou volby při léčbě hypertyreózy již po několik desetiletí let a je rozšířeno po celém světě. Přes poměrně dlouhou zkušenost s jeho podáváním neexistuje dosud jednotný protokol na jeho použití a názory na optimální terapeutický přístup se značně liší. V této práci uvádíme vlastní zkušenosti s touto léčbou a podáváme stručný přehled možností využití 131I u neonkologických pacientů s tyreopatiemi. Kromě nejčastějších indikací a kontraindikací léčby pomocí 131I a jejích možných vedlejších účinků uvádíme rovněž možnosti výpočtu podané dávky, způsob a průběh léčby, její účinnost a důsledky pro pacienty.

Administration of thyreostatic doses of radioactive iodine - 131I is the method of choice in the treatment of hyperthyroidism for several decades and it is widely used over the world. Despite relatively long-term experience with this therapy there are not common guidelines for its usage and views on the optimal approach to the treatment varies widely. In this article we present our own experience with this therapy and review shortly the therapeutic regimens using 131I in non –oncological patients with thyreopathy. We present the most frequent indications and contraindications of 131I therapy and its possible side effects, options for calculation of dosage regimens, modalities and course of therapy, its efficacy and outcome to patients.
