Příspěvek se snaží rozpracovat kategorizaci sportovních imigrantů a jejich vliv na kulturu. Je nutné vytvořit přesnější teoretický rámec, na jehož základě můžeme dále zkoumat důsledky fenoménu sportovní migrace. Tento rámec by měl obsahovat kategorizaci životního stylu sportovců, kteří se stěhují do jiných zemí a jejich motivaci dle Maguire (1996), ale také další prvky jako míra vyspělosti země, vysílající a přijímající země a významnost sportovních odvětví v různých zemích. Každý z těchto prvků nám pomáhá vysvětlit, jak v rámci globalizace daná kultura interpretuje a reaguje na sportovce, kteří pocházejí z jiných zemí. Tento článek se pokouší blíže objasnit a určit některé klíčové otázky světové sportovní migrace založené na vysílající/přijímající zemi a postavení sportu v dané kultuře.

This article attempts to further define the categorization of immigrant athletes and their effect of culture. It is necessary to create a more accurate theoretical framework from which we can talk about the ramifications of the phenomena of global sport migration. This framework needs to include Joseph Maguire's (1996) categorization of immigrant athlete lifestyle and motivation, but also the elements of core/ periphery and sending/ receiving countries and primary versus secondary sport. Each of these elements influences how a given culture interprets and responds to sport migrants in the framework of globalization. This article attempts to further clarify this categorization and identify some of the key questions global sport migration raises based on sender/receiver and the priority of said sport in the culture.
