Práce je zaměřena na problematiku dětských baby boxů. Zabývá se způsoby, jakými lze řešit zvlášť obtížnou situaci, jež vede ženu k rozhodnutí vzdát se svého dítěte. Popisuje i několik jiných možností řešení než umístit dítě do baby boxu. Zejména možnost odložit dítě do zařízení pro děti vyžadující okamžitou pomoc, využít péči lůžkových zdravotnických zařízení včetně zvláštních zdravotnických zařízení – kojeneckých ústavů či dětských domovů, porodit dítě v nemocnici a podepsat zákonné prohlášení matky se souhlasem k osvojení. Článek se zabývá i prevencí vzniku popsaného jevu – odložení dítěte do baby boxu. Ta by měla zahrnovat předcházení vzniku nechtěného těhotenství, plánování rodičovství, možnost využívání anonymní péče v době těhotenství, přípravu na porod a péči o novorozence, utajený nebo anonymní porod. Současně autorka charakterizuje postoj jednotlivých orgánů sociálně právní ochrany dítěte i jiných úřadů k této záležitosti. Dále také popisuje historii vzniku baby boxů v České republice a v krátkosti i v Evropě.

The work is aimed at problems of children baby boxes. It considers methods of solving considerably difficult situations conducting a woman to her decision to abandon her child. It also describes several other possibilities, particularly of putting the child into institutions for children calling for immediate assistance, taking advantage of the care of inpatient health facilities including special health facilities – nursery institutions or children homes, and delivering the child into a hospital with signing a legal declaration of the mother expressing her agreement with submitting the child to adoption. The article also takes into account the prevention of the origination of the phenomenon described – situation of the child into a baby box. It should include the prevention of unwanted pregnancy, planning of the parenthood and possibility of taking the advantage of the anonymous care in the period of the pregnancy, preparation for the delivery and for taking care of the newborn and secret or anonymous delivery. The author simultaneously characterizes the attitude of particular bodies of the social-legal protection of children and other authorities to these problems. She also describes the history of the origination of baby boxes in the Czech Republic and briefly also in Europe.
