Přestože s pojmem bezpečí pacienta pracujeme od roku 2007, jsou neustále zjišťovány nedostatky. Přesvědčila nás o tom i návštěva investigativních novinářů, která vyvolává nejrůznější pocity. Část laické veřejnosti je přesvědčená, že je to správná cesta k odhalení tajuplného světa zdravotnictví. Část odborné veřejnosti je proti těmto praktikám a odůvodňuje to porušováním práv. Realita je však taková, že v ZZ jsou mezery z pohledu bezpečí pro pacienta a touto problematikou je potřeba neustále se zabývat. Stanovili jsme bezpečnostní desatero, které se stalo podkladem k tvorbě auditního listu a provedení opakovaného bezpečnostního auditu. Bezpečnostní audity, na základě bezpečnostního desatera, přesto, že patří do skupiny neohlášených kontrol, jsou vnímané velmi pozitivně jak zaměstnanci, tak managementem. Odhalí případná slabá místa a vedou zaměstnance k přemýšlení nad pojmem bezpečí pro pacienta i zaměstnance.

Although we have been working with the term patient´s safety since 2007, drawbacks are still found. This was confirmed again during the visit of investigative journalists which produced contradictory reactions. A part of the lay public is convinced that this is the right way to reveal the mysterious world of health service. A part of the professional public is against these practices because of the rights violation. The truth is that there are gaps from the point of view of the patient´s safety in the individual healthcare facilities and it is necessary to deal with this issue constantly. We therefore set the ten safety principles which became the basis of the audit list creation and implementation of the repeated safety audit. The safety audits based on the ten safety principles are perceived positively by both the employees and the management, although they belong in the group of unannounced inspections. They reveal possible weak points and lead the employees to thinking about the term of patient´s and employee´s safety.
