V posledních letech se úrazy zápěstí stále častěji řeší jak konzervativně, tak operačně. Povědomí o rehabilitaci je však velmi omezené, ale je třeba si uvědomit, že rehabilitace se na dobrém výsledku podílí minimálně 50 % z hlediska znovuzískání ztracené či traumatem omezené funkce. Péče o končetinu v pooperačním období má velký význam, a pokud není důsledně prováděná, může mít závažné důsledky. S terapií je třeba začít již v období, kdy je ruka ve fixaci, aby se minimalizoval otok a bolest. Cílem této práce je představit základní zásady pro rehabilitaci po úrazech zápěstí a ruky.

In recent years, wrist injuries are increasingly addressed both conservatively and surgically. Awareness about proper rehabilitation is sadly very limited, even when we should be keeping in mind that rehabilitation contributes at least 50% towards achieving a good result, i.e. restoring the function lost or impaired as a result of the trauma. Proper care for the limb in the postoperative period is of great importance, and if it is not performed consistently and diligently, it can have serious consequences. The therapy should be commenced at a time when the hand is in a cast to minimise swelling and pain. The aim of this paper is to present the basic principles for rehabilitation after injuries to the wrist and the hand.
