Článek je kritikou návrhů na okamžitou standardizaci falometrie. Tyto návrhy stavějí na pojmu „sexuální preference“. To ale znamená stavět na teoretických předpokladech, jež základní věda už dávno odmítá. Na nich založená standardizace by proto byla nezodpovědná. Netestová falometrie v rukou experta je jedním z užitečných zdrojů sexodiagnostických dat.

This is a criticism of current attempts to make phallometry a standardized sexodiagnostic method based on the concept of sexual preference. However, this concept implies theoretical assumptions which were not found valid by basic science a long time ago. Correct standardization cannot be based on invalid assumptions. As a non-test method phallometry in the hands of an expert is one of the useful sources of sexodiagnostic data.
