Aim: The main aim of the work was to determine whether the selected clients coming for gynecological operating rooms in the hospital Pardubice region for gynecological operation lasting at least 90 minutes in hypothermia. Background: The value of body temperature is ranked among important indicators of the current state of man. Body temperature determines the state of equilibrium, which is due to heat build-organism, receiving heat from the environment and dispersing heat from the body. Methods: We made quantitative research, when the recording sheet own compositions have been recorded by us defined data (initials and year of birth, surgical approach, body temperature at predetermined intervals, weight, height, the person who measured the body temperature of the clients and undertake preventive measures against hypothermia). The respondents comprised 50 women of different ages and BMI, which underwent gynecological operation vaginal or abdominal, which lasted more than 90 minutes. Results: Of the 50 clients who underwent gynecological operation lasting more than 90 minutes, had 30 of them (60 %), while on the operating room hypothermia. Women who ranged in normal BMI group were a total of 16 (32 %) of all those involved. In 14 of them (28 %) with hypothermia while on gynecological operating theater. The group of overweight BMI included 16 clients (32 %), hypothermia occurred in 9 of them (18 %). Obese belonged to a group of 18 women (36 %) of all monitored clients. In this case, hypothermia occurred in 5 of them (10 %) In operations, when the actual treatment lasted 90 minutes, hypothermia occurred in 17 (34 %) cases. Conclusions: In our case, the hypothermia occurred in 30 of the 50 clients, which are quite alarming figure because hypothermia can lead to subsequent postoperative complications and decreased postoperative reconvalescence.
