Přehledový článek se zabývá příčinami vzniku chronických, nehojících se defektů, jejich správnou diagnostikou a přístupem k léčbě. Důraz je kladen na holistický přístup k ráně používající koncept TIME, na nutnost ovlivnění příčiny vzniku rány a následně na adekvátní kombinaci chirurgických a nechirurgických metod hojení ran, nevyjímaje podpůrnou terapii v rukou proškolených zdravotnických odborníků z řad lékařů různých odborností i zdravotních sester.

An article reviewing the causes of chronic, non-healing defects, their correct diagnosis and approach to treatment. Emphasis is placed on a holistic approach to the wound using the TIME concept, the need to influence the cause of the wound, and consequently a suitable combination of surgical and non-surgical wound-healing methods, including supportive therapy in the hands of trained health professionals from doctors of various specialties as well as from the nursing staff.
