Sarilumab představuje novou účinnou možnost v léčbě revmatoidní artritidy. V kombinaci s metotrexátem i v monoterapii vede v porovnání s adalimumabem u nemocných s aktivní středně těžkou až těžkou revmatoidní artritidou k významnému zlepšení klinických, funkčních i radiografických parametrů. To potvrdily zásadní klinické studie věnované sarilumabu – studie MOBILITY, TARGET a MONARCH. Pacienti léčení sarilumabem terapii dobře snášejí a pozorují při této léčbě zlepšení kvality života.
Sarilumab is a new effective way of treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Sarilumab with methotrexate or in monotherapy demonstrated superiority to adalimumab monotherapy by improving the clinical signs and symptoms, physical functions and radiographic parameters in patients with active, mild or severe rheumatoid arthritis. These outcomes came mainly from crucial clinical trials evaluating effects of sarilumab treatment – MOBILITY, TARGET and MONARCH trials. Sarilumab treatment is generally well tolerated and most of the patients with sarilumab report a better health-related quality of life.
