Dvě krátké kazuistiky zaměřené na převod z intenzifikovaného inzulínového režimu (bazální inzulín + minimálně 3x denně prandiální inzulín) na fixní kombinaci glargin/lixisenatid (Suliqua). První kazuistika 50letého muže ukazuje udržení výborné kompenzace diabetu (HbA1c < 53 mmol/mol) několik let po deintenzifikaci terapie. Druhým pacientem je žena narozená v roce 1941, u které převod na fixní kombinaci glargin/lixisenatid vedl nejen k částečnému zlepšení kompenzace a úbytku hmotnosti, ale hlavně ke zlepšení kvality života a snížení obav z hypoglykemie. Při uvedené změně terapie se snížila nutnost aplikací u obou pacientů minimálně o 1 000 bodnutí jehlou za rok

The two case reports focus on the transition from intensive insulin therapy (basal insulin + prandial insulin at least three times daily) to fixed combination of glargine and lixisenatide (Suliqua). The first case report describes a 50-year-old man who shows maintenance of excellent diabetes control (HbA1c < 53 mmol/mol) several years after treatment deintensification. The second patient is a woman born in 1941 in whom the transition to fixed combination treatment with glargine/lixisenatide led not only to partial improvement in diabetes control and weight reduction but mainly to improvement in the quality of life and reduction in fears of hypoglycaemia. With this change in therapy, the need for both patients to apply their treatment was reduced by at least 1 000 needle stings per year.
