Práca je venovaná kontinuálnemu vzdelávaniu sestier a výskumu, ktorý bol realizovaný vo Fakultnej nemocnici Trnava. Súbor respondentov tvorilo 351 sestier. Na spracovanie výsledkov výskumu sme použili Pearsonov korelačný koeficient, Kruskal Walisov test a Mann Whitneyho U test. Výsledky výskumu poukazujú na to, že 52 % (182) respondentov považuje zavedenie povinného sústavného vzdelávania sestier a pôrodných asistentiek za akceptovateľné. Medzi dominantné bariéry účasti na aktivitách sústavného vzdelávania patrí nedostatok času a zvýšená pracovná záťaž sestier. Najviac sestier využíva v rámci sústavného vzdelávania pasívnu účasť na odborných podujatiach. Téma kontinuálneho vzdelávania v profesii sestra je stále vysoko aktuálna a preto vnímame potrebu venovať jej pozornosť.

The thesis focuses on continuing education in nursing. The component of the work is a research which was conducted in Trnava University Hospital. A group of respondents consisted of 351 nurses. For the processing of research data, we used the Pearson correlation coefficient, the Kruskal Walis test and the Mann Whitney U test. The results of our research indicate that 52% (182) of respondents consider the introduction of mandatory continuing education of nurses and midwives acceptable. Dominant barriers to participation in continuing education activities are lack of time and increased workload of nurses. Most nurses in our research use passive participation in continuing education. The topic of continuing education in the nursing profession is still highly actual, and therefore we perceive the need to pay attention to it.
