Soubor příznaků dysplazie postihující struktury středního mozku v kombinaci s hypoplazií optických nervů, chiasma opticum a tractus opticus. Typická je ageneze septum pellucidum, částečná nebo úplná ageneze corpus callosum a malformace fornixu. Mohou být i abnormality endokrinního systému, v rozsahu od izolovaných deficiencí (deficience růstového hormonu, hypotyroidismus, diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus) až po panhypopituitarismus. A condition resulting from congenital malformations involving the brain. The syndrome of septo-optic dysplasia combines hypoplasia or agenesis of the SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM; CORPUS CALLOSUM and the OPTIC NERVE. The extent of the abnormalities can vary. Septo-optic dysplasia is often associated with abnormalities of the HYPOTHALAMUS and other diencephalic structures, and HYPOPITUITARISM.
