Probability distribution function Dotaz Zobrazit nápovědu
Interpretation of XANES spectra suffers from a poor intuitive understanding of the relation between spectral features and structural elements of a material. An attempt to alleviate this shortcoming is made by exploring a spatial distribution of probability density of wave functions of photoelectrons excited during the photoabsorption process. One has to add incoherently squares of wave functions which describe participating photoelectron diffraction (PED) processes, weighted by normalized PED cross sections. As an example, we investigate probability density of wave functions relevant to Ag L1 and L3 XANES of Ag2O.

We present an exact calculation of the probability density for the work done by an external agent on a two-level system. Due to the external drive, both the transition rates between the two states and their energies depend on time. Within this setting we calculate the probability of every possible sample path of the system evolution and also the work done along any such path. The general procedure yields an evolution equation for the characteristic function of the work. Assuming that the energies change with constant rates, the properties of the work distribution are controlled by a single parameter representing the ratio of the time scales of the driving protocol, and of the internal dynamics, respectively. We calculate the mean work and characterize those sample paths which are not in agreement with the second law. In the slow driving limit, the probability density for the work collapses to a delta function localized at the reversible work. In the strongly nonequilibrium regime, the most probable work is smaller and the mean work is bigger than the reversible work.

A novel two-parameter continuous model titled the entropy-transformed Weibull (ET-W) distribution has been developed via the entropy transformation. A new framework has been investigated and found to meet the criteria of the probability function. By significantly improving the functional shape and having the ability to model the most likely form of the hazard rate function, this novel modification has increased the adaptability of typical model. Some of its core characteristics, such as its statistical and computational features, are simply and clearly presented. To examine the ultimate performance of maximum likelihood estimators during the process of estimating model parameters, a comprehensive simulation analysis has been conducted. The effectiveness of the suggested distribution is illustrated through the modeling of real datasets.

In the present paper, we investigate the performance of the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) based cooperative cognitive radio networks (CCRNs). In particular, the outage probability is derived in the closed-form expressions under the opportunistic partial relay selection. Different from the conventional CRNs in which the transmit power of the secondary transmitters count merely on the aggregate interference measured on the primary networks, the transmit power of the SWIPT-enabled transmitters is also constrained by the harvested energy. As a result, the mathematical framework involves more correlated random variables and, thus, is of higher complexity. Monte Carlo simulations are given to corroborate the accuracy of the mathematical analysis and to shed light on the behavior of the OP with respect to several important parameters, e.g., the transmit power and the number of relays. Our findings illustrate that increasing the transmit power and/or the number of relays is beneficial for the outage probability.

In survival and stochastic lifespan modeling, numerous families of distributions are sometimes considered unnatural, unjustifiable theoretically, and occasionally superfluous. Here, a novel parsimonious survival model is developed using the Bilal distribution (BD) and the Kavya-Manoharan (KM) parsimonious transformation family. In addition to other analytical properties, the forms of probability density function (PDF) and behavior of the distributions' hazard rates are analyzed. The insights are theoretical as well as practical. Theoretically, we offer explicit equations for the single and product moments of order statistics from Kavya-Manoharan Bilal Distribution. Practically, maximum likelihood (ML) technique, which is based on simple random sampling (SRS) and ranked set sampling (RSS) sample schemes, is employed to estimate the parameters. Numerical simulations are used as the primary methodology to compare the various sampling techniques.

Economic development relies on access to electrical energy, which is crucial for society's growth. However, power shortages are challenging due to non-renewable energy depletion, unregulated use, and a lack of new energy sources. Ethiopia's Debre Markos distribution network experiences over 800 h of power outages annually, causing financial losses and resource waste on diesel generators (DGs) for backup use. To tackle these concerns, the present study suggests a hybrid power generation system, which combines solar and biogas resources, and integrates Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) and Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES) technologies into the system. The study also thoroughly analyzes the current and anticipated demand connected to the distribution network using a backward/forward sweep load flow analysis method. The results indicate that the total power loss has reached its absolute maximum, and the voltage profiles of the networks have dropped below the minimal numerical values recommended by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards (i.e., 0.95-1.025 p.u.). After reviewing the current distribution network's operation, additional steps were taken to improve its effectiveness, using metaheuristic optimization techniques to account for various objective functions and constraints. In the results section, it is demonstrated that the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) outperforms other metaheuristic optimization techniques across three important objective functions: financial, reliability, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This comparison is based on the capability of the natural selection whale optimization algorithm (NSWOA) to achieve the best possible values for four significant metrics: Cost of Energy (COE), Net Present Cost (NPC), Loss of Power Supply Probability (LPSP), and GHG Emissions. The NSWOA achieved optimal values for these metrics, namely 0.0812 €/kWh, 3.0017 × 106 €, 0.00875, and 7.3679 × 106 kg reduced, respectively. This is attributable to their thorough economic, reliability, and environmental evaluation. Finally, the forward/backward sweep load flow analysis employed during the proposed system's integration significantly reduced the impact of new energy resources on the distribution network. This was evident in the reduction of total power losses from 470.78 to 18.54 kW and voltage deviation from 6.95 to 0.35 p.u., as well as the voltage profile of the distribution system being swung between 1 and 1.0234 p.u., which now comply with the standards set by the IEEE. Besides, a comparison of the cost and GHG emission efficiency of the proposed hybrid system with existing (grid + DGs) and alternative (only DGs) scenarios was done. The findings showed that, among the scenarios examined, the proposed system is the most economical and produces the least amount of GHG emissions.

The distribution of time that people spend in physical activity of various intensities has important health implications. Physical activity (commonly categorised by the intensity into light, moderate and vigorous physical activity), sedentary behaviour and sleep, should not be analysed separately, because they are parts of a time-use composition with a natural constraint of 24 h/day. To find out how are relative reallocations of time between physical activity of various intensities associated with health, herewith we describe compositional scalar-on-function regression and a newly developed compositional functional isotemporal substitution analysis. Physical activity intensity data can be considered as probability density functions, which better reflects the continuous character of their measurement using accelerometers. These probability density functions are characterised by specific properties, such as scale invariance and relative scale, and they are geometrically represented using Bayes spaces with the Hilbert space structure. This makes possible to process them using standard methods of functional data analysis in the L2 space, via centred logratio (clr) transformation. The scalar-on-function regression with clr transformation of the explanatory probability density functions and compositional functional isotemporal substitution analysis were applied to a dataset from a cross-sectional study on adiposity conducted among school-aged children in the Czech Republic. Theoretical reallocations of time to physical activity of higher intensities were found to be associated with larger and more progressive expected decreases in adiposity. We obtained a detailed insight into the dose-response relationship between physical activity intensity and adiposity, which was enabled by using the compositional functional approach.

Multitime correlation functions provide useful probes for the ensembles of trajectories underlying the stochastic dynamics of complex systems. These can be obtained by measuring their optical response to sequences of ultrashort optical pulse. Using the continuous time random walk model for spectral diffusion, we analyze the signatures of anomalous relaxation in two-dimensional four wave mixing signals. Different models which share the same two point joint probability distribution show markedly different lineshapes and may be distinguished. Aging random walks corresponding to waiting time distributions with diverging first moment show dependence of 2D lineshapes on initial observation time, which persist for long times.
