Autorka prezentuje nové poznatky o vybratých vírusových exantémových ochoreniach detského veku ako sú: roseola infantum, pityriasis rosea, erythema infectiosum, asymetrický periflexurálny, exantém u detí, hand, foot and mouth disease, Gianottiho-Crostiho syndróm a papular-purpuric gloves and socks syndróm. Uvedené infekčné ochorenia sa diagnostikujú na základe správnej interpretácie epidemiologickej situácie, klinického obrazu a virologických vyšetrení (sérologia s posúdením kinetiky titrov vírusneutralizujúcich protilátok, izolácie vírusu na tkanivových kultúrach a metodík molekulárnej biológie – PCR).

The author presents recent knowledge concerning selected childhood viral exanthematous diseases such as roseola infantum, pityriasis rosea, erythema infectiosum, asymmetric periflexural exanthema in children, hand-foot and mouth disease, Gianotti-Crosti syndrome and papular-purpuric gloves and socks syndrome. These infectious diseases are diagnosed on the ground of a proper interpretation of epidemiological situation, clinical picture and virological examination (serology with regard to the kinetics of virus neutralising antibody titre, isolation of a virus on tissue cultures and methods of molecular biology – PCR).
