Rekonštrukcia močových ciest je integrálnou súčasťou transplantácie obličky. Cieľom rekonštrukcie močových ciest je snaha dosiahnuť optimálnu a sociálne najprijateľnejšiu drenáž moču z transplantovanej obličky. Anatomický a funkčný stav močových ciest významne ovplyvňuje nielen kvalitu života pacienta po transplantácii obličky, ale aj funkciu a prežitie transplantovanej obličky i samotných pacientov. Komplikácie urologického charakteru, ktoré majú súvislosť s rekonštrukciou močových ciest tvoria samostatnú kapitolu medzi chirurgickými komplikáciami po transplantácii obličky a patria medzi najzávažnejšie komplikácie po transplantácii obličky. Môžu byť príčinou straty transplantovanej obličky, ale môžu pacientov aj priamo ohrozovať na živote. V prípade urologických komplikácií sa indikuje promptná diagnostika a razantné chirurgické riešenie a to individuálne podľa charakteru komplikácie.

Urinary tract reconstruction is an integral part of kidney transplantation. The aim of urinary tract reconstruction is to obtain optimum and socially acceptable drainage of urine from the transplanted kidney. The anatomical and functional status of the urinary tract significantly affects not only the patient´s quality of life after kidney transplantation, but also the function and survival of the transplanted kidney, and of the patients themselves. Urological complications, related to urinary tract reconstruction, create a specific family among surgical complications after kidney transplantation, and belong to the most severe complications after kidney transplantation. They can cause loss of the transplanted kidney, and endanger the patient´s life. In the case of urological complications, immediate precise diagnostics and appropriate surgical therapy, based on individual characteristics of the complication, is indicated.
