Alergická rýma je chronické zánětlivé onemocnění nosní sliznice, které je součástí „alergického syndromu na jednotných dýchacích cestách“. Je nejen jedním z nejdůležitějších rizikových faktorů pro rozvoj bronchiálního astmatu, ale také jeho průběh negativně ovlivňuje. Komplexní přístup k pacientům s alergickými projevy na dýchacích cestách opírající se o medicínu založenou na důkazech je doporučen v diagnostice i léčbě podle iniciativy ARIA (Allergic rhinitis and its impact on asthma).

Allergic rhinitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the nasal mucous membrane and is part of the allergic syndrome affecting the entire respiratory tract. It is not only one of the most important risk factors for the development of bronchial asthma but it also has a negative impact on the course of asthma. The WHO ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) Initiative recommends a comprehensive approach endorsed by evidence based medicine to both diagnosis and treatment of patients with allergic respiratory diseases.
