Infekce dolních močových cest a pohlavních cest u mužů, jako jsou uretritida, prostatitida, epididymitida, orchitida a cystitida jsou stále aktuální, i když netvoří největší díl problematiky urologů. Každý urolog by měl problematiku infekcí znát, aby byl schopen orientovat se ve specifikách antibiotické léčby podle typu onemocnění a stejně tak by si měl být vědom nutnosti komplexního vyšetření urotraktu v indikovaných případech nebo vyšetření a také léčby partnerky/-a u pohlavně získaných onemocnění.
