Lornoxikam je nesteroidní antiflogistikum (NSA) s vyváženou blokádou cyklooxygenázy 1 a 2. Je využíván v krátkodobé léčbě akutní bolesti různého původu. Vedle dostatečně dokumentované terapeutické účinnosti se navíc vyznačuje i poměrně příznivým bezpečnostním profilem, zejména pak ve smyslu nižšího výskytu zažívacích potíží ve srovnání s ostatními NSA.
