Autori v práci prezentujú prípad 48-ročného pacienta s obojstrannou Menierovou chorobou. Choroba začala na pravej strane a aj napriek dva roky trvajúcej konzervatívnej liečbe dochádzalo k opakovaným atakom a sluch na pravej strane sa zhoršil na úroveň praktickej hluchoty. Po dvoch rokoch choroba začala aj na ľavej strane, keď náhle vznikla fluktujúca porucha sluchu, tinitus a pocit tlaku v uchu. Závraty boli mierne a prítomné iba tri dni, potom sa už neobjavovali. Pacient opakovane podstúpil konzervatívnu aj lokálne invazívnu liečbu bez zlepšenia stavu. Po desiatich mesiacoch podstúpil dekompresiu saccus endolymphaticus. Po liečbe došlo k výraznému zlepšeniu sluchu, zmierneniu tinitu a vymiznutiu pocitu plnosti ucha. Po dvoch rokoch je choroba stabilizovaná - sluch vľavo v norme, závraty nie sú.

The authors present the case of e 48 years old patient with bilateral Meni?re's disease. The disease began on the right side and in spite of two-years lasting conservative treatment repeated attacks occurred and hearing on the right side deteriorate to the level of virtual deafness. Two years later the disease became manifest on the left side, when a sudden fluctuating hearing disorder began as well as tinnitus and the feeling of pressure in the ear. Vertigo was mild, last only three days and never occurred later. The patient underwent conservative as well as local invasive treatment repeatedly without improvement of the condition. Ten months later decompression of saccus endolymphaticus was applied. The therapy resulted in a marked hearing improvement, diminution of tinnitus and disappearance of the feeling of full ear. The disease became stabilized after two years with normal hearing on the left side and absent vertigo.
