Diabetes mellitus je relativně častým onemocněním spojeným se srdečním selháním obou typů (se zachovaLou i sníženou ejekční frakcí), které zhoršuje jeho průběh a prognózu. Zlepšení mortality, morbidity pacientů se srdečním selháním a diabetem je společným cílem diabetoLogů a kardioLogů. Zatímco etabLovaná „kardioLogická“ farmakoterapie srdečního seLhání je anaLogická u diabetiků a nediabetiků s podobným efektem na redukci mortaLity a morbidity u obou skupin pacientů, tak u „diabetoLogické“ farmakoterapie je situace kompLexnější. PřehLedový čLánek popisuje zákLady farmakoterapie srdečního seLhání nejen z kardioLogického hLediska, aLe diskutuje terapii antidiabetiky u pacientů se srdečním seLháním ve světLe nejnovějších výsLedků kLinických studií.

Diabetes mellitus relatively frequently coincides with heart failure of both types (with preserved and reduced ejection fraction) and worsens its course and prognosis. An improvement in mortality and morbidity of heart failure and diabetes is a common goal of both cardiologists and diabetologists. While the established “cardiologists” pharmacotherapy of heart failure is analogic in diabetic and non-diabetic patients, there is a more complex situation with the “diabetologists” pharmacotherapy. This review manuscript describes the basics of pharmacotherapy of heart failure not only from the cardiologists point of view but discusses the therapy with antidiabetic drugs in patients with heart failure in perspectives of the newest results of recent clinical trials.
