Článek představuje výsledky studie anabolického účinku suchých extraktů listů a oddenků Iris hungarica na modelu katabolismu proteinů indukovaného hyd- rokortizonem. Předchozí studie prokázaly přítomnost anabolické aktivity suchých extraktů z listů a oddenků Iris hungarica u intaktních zvířat.
This article presents the results of the study of the anabolic effect of dry extracts of Iris hungarica leaves and rhizomes on the model of hydrocortisone- induced protein catabolism. Previous studies have established the presence of anabolic activity of dry extracts of Iris hungarica leaves and rhizomes in intact animals. Therefore, it was reasonable to study the effect of the experimental extracts on the state of protein metabolism, which is regulated by glucocorticoids. The model of hydrocortisone- induced protein catabolism was used to determine anabolic activity for dry extracts of Iris hungarica leaves and rhizomes at a dose of 150 mg/kg by monitoring the recovery of body weight and the increase in the total protein in the cardiac muscle of rats and in muscle tissue homogenate, which is aimed to promote myofibrillar hypertrophy. Dry extract of Iris hungarica rhizomes reduced urea excretion, normalized metabolism, restored nitrogen balance, and inhibited protein catabolism. The results indicate that dry extract of Iris hungarica has the ability to correct protein metabolism, which is regulated in part by glucocorticoids, due to the high content of isoflavonoids and amino acids, and suggest that there is a potential use for this herbal product in the development of a new drug aimed at correcting protein metabolism and muscular atrophy.

Práce prezentuje výsledky studie mastných kyselin (FA) ve květech a nati volně rostoucí a pěstované chrpy (Centaurea cyanus (L.)). Analýza byla provedena metodou plynové chromatografie (GC) s vnitřní normalizací. V nati obou typů chrpy bylo identifikováno 13 mastných kyselin. V květech a nati pěstovaných chrp, stejně jako v květech volně rostoucích, převládaly nenasycené mastné kyseliny, zejména kyselina linolová, linolenová a olejová. Kyselina palmitová představovala nejhojněji se vyskytující nasycenou FA.
The presented study shows the composition of fatty acids (FA) in fl owers and herb of wild and cultivated cornfl ower (Centaurea cyanus (L.)). The analysis was performed by gas chromatography (GC) with a method using internal normalization. Together 13 fatty acids were identifi ed in both types of cornfl ower herb. Unsaturated fatty acids, particularly, linoleic, linolenic, and oleic acids, were prevailing in cultivated cornfl ower fl owers and herb, as well as in wild cornfl ower fl owers. Palmitic acid was the most abundant saturated FA.
