Východisko: Zavedenie externej drenáže mozgových komôr sa zaraďuje medzi jednoduché chirurgické zá- kroky, napriek tomu však môže so sebou v niekto- rých prípadoch niesť aj výskyt určitých komplikácií. Súbor a metódy: Použili sme dotazník vlastnej kon- štrukcie s cieľom zistiť existenciu vzťahu výskytu komplikácií u pacientov s externou drenážou mozgo- vých komôr v súvislosti s pracoviskom sestier. Zúčastnilo sa 98 sestier pri lôžku na neurochirurgic- kých oddeleniach, neurochirurgických jednotkách in- tenzívnej starostlivosti a na oddeleniach anestézioló- gie a intenzívnej medicíny v bratislavských nemocniciach. Výsledky: Zistili sme, že najčastejšie sa vyskytujúcou komplikáciou v súvislosti so zavedením externej ko- morovej drenáže je výskyt infekcie (25,5 %). Záver: V rámci ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti je veľmi dôležitá prevencia vzniku infekcie a pravidelné sledo- vanie pacienta sestrou, aby sa predišlo možným kom- plikáciám.
Background: The introduction of external drainage of the cerebral ventricles is classified as a simple sur- gical procedure, however, in some cases, it can also carry certain complications. File and methods: We used a self-constructed qu- estionnaire in order to determine the existence of a relationship between the occurrence of complica- tions in patients with external drainage of the ce- rebral ventricles in connection with the nurses‘ wor- kplace. 98 respondents took part in the survey, nurses who works at the neurosurgery department, neurosurgical intensive care units and at the depart- ments of anesthesiology and intensive care in hospi- tals of Bratislava regions. Results: We found that the most common compli- cation in connection with the introduction of exter- nal ventricular drainage is the occurrence of infec- tions (25.51%). Conclusion: As part of nursing care, infection and regular monitoring of the patient‘s prevention by the nurse are very important to avoid possible complica- tions.
Emocionálna inteligencia je široko používaným pojmom v profesiách, ako je obchod, manažment, vzdelávanie, a za posledných 10 rokov sa presadila aj v ošetrovateľskej praxi. Emocionálna inteligencia, ktorá je explicitne zameraná na pokrok v ošetrovateľskej praxi, je koncept, ktorý môže byť ústredným bodom ošetrovateľskej praxe, pretože má potenciál ovplyvniť kvalitu starostlivosti o pacienta a výsledky, rozhodovanie, kritické myslenie a celkovú pohodu praktizujúcich sestier. Príspevok poukazuje na význam emocionálnej inteligencie v kontexte ošetrovateľstva.
Emotional intelligence is a widely used concept in professions such as business, management, education, and in the last 10 years it has gained ground in nursing practice. Emotional intelligence, which is explicitly aimed at advancing nursing practice, is a concept that can be central to nursing practice because it has the potential to influence the quality of patient care and outcomes, decision-making, critical thinking, and overall well-being of practicing nurses. The paper points out the importance of emotional intelligence in the context of nursing.
