Ve vybrané skupině dospělých nemocných ve věkovém rozmezí 15-70 let hospitalizovaných pro gastroenteritidu na Infekční klinice FN v Plzni v letech 1994-1998 byly sledovány rozdíly v klinickém obraze a průběhu onemocnění u pacientů se salmonelózou (celkem 746 nemocných) a pacientů, u kterých byla v průběhu hospitalizace diagnostikována ulcerózní kolitida (celkem 20 nemocných). I přes malý soubor nemocných druhé skupiny byly prokázány některé důležité odchylky v průběhu nemoci (déletrvající a významnější enteroragie) a v anamnéze současného onemocnění (výrazně delší trvání enterálních příznaků). Výsledky laboratorních vyšetření nebyly přesvědčivě diskrepantní.

The authors investigated in a group of adult patients in the age bracket from 15-70 years hospitalized on account of gastroenteritis at the Infectious Diseases Clinic Faculty Hospital Plzeň in 1994-1998. Differences in the clinical picture and course of the disease in patients with salmonellosis (a total of 746 patients) and in patients where during hospitalization ulcerative colitis was diagnosed (a total of 20 patients) were described. Despite the small number patients in the second group some important differences in the course of the disease were observed (longer and more significant enterorrhagia) and in the history of the current disease (a markedly longer period with enteral symptoms). The results of laboratory examinations did not differ markedly.
