V roce 1999 bylo na KAR FNKV Praha primárně ošetřeno 180 traumatických nemocných: 81 (45 %) pro polytraumatismus, 59 (33 %) kraniocere- brální monotraumata, 22 (12 %) sdružená poranění a 18 (10 %) pro jiná poranění. 156 nemocných (86,7 %) bylo přijato se selháváním jedné nebo více vitálních funkcí. Zemřelo 40 nemocných (22 %), což je výsledek lepší o 24 (13 %) proti predikci stanovené metodikou TRISS, na statistické hladině významnosti p = 0,0018.

One hundred and eighty patients were admitted for primary care to Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Charles University Hospital Královské Vinohrady, Prague 10, during the year 1999. Eighty-one patients (45%) were admitted with polytrauma, fifty-nine (33%) for head-brain injury, twenty-two (12%) for multiple injuries and eighteen (10%) for other injuries. One hundred and fifty-six patients (86.7%) were admitted with one or more vital functions failure. Forty patients died (22%). This result is 13% better compared to predictive model based on TRISS, P = 0.0018. This represent twenty-four saved lives.
