Nemoci štítné žlázy jsou nejčastější endokrinopatie v ČR. Klinicky je možné tyreopatie dělit na základě etiopatogeneze a diagnostických a léčebných postupu na vrozené vývojové poruchy štítné žlázy, nemoci z nedostatku jodu, eufunkční strumy (benigní formy a nádory štítné žlázy), záněty štítné žlázy a dysfunkce štítné žlázy: hypotyreóza a tyreotoxikóza. Z uvedené klasifikace vyplývají tři základní terapeutické přístupy – podávání jodu, hormonální substituční léčba a léčba tyreostatická.

Thyroid diseases are the most common endocrinopathies in the Czech Republic. Thyroid diseases may be divided on the basis of etiopathogenesis as well as on diagnostic and treatment procedures to congenital developmental disorders of the thyroid, iodine-defficiency diseases, eufunctional struma (benign forms and tumors of the thyroid), thyroiditis and thyroid dysfunction: hypothyreoidism and thyrotoxicosis. The presented classification results in three fundamental therapeutic approaches – iodine administration, hormone replacement therapy and thyrostatic treatment.
