Autori vyšetrili schopnosť vykonávať bežné denné činnosti, ktoré tvoria obsah ADL testu - Activities of Daily Living, nazývaného aj Barthelov test u 585 probantov Prešovského okresu vo veku 65 rokov a -viac. Zistili, že 4 % probantov je odkázaných v denných činnostiach na kompletnú pomoc, 3 % potrebuje čiastočnú pomoc a 9 % probantov možno hypoteticky považovať za „krehkých". V prepočte na geriatrickú populáciu celého okresu to predstavuje 707 osôb v 1. skupine, 505 osôb vo 2. skupine a 1 615 osôb v skupine „krehkých" (frailty). Tieto ádaje považujú za velmi dôležité pri plánovaní rozsahu zdravotnej a sociálnej starosdivosti v okrese.

The authors have evaluated the abihty to perform the usual activities of daily living, of which the content of Barthel test is consisting, at 585 probants of Presov county at the age of 65 years and older. They found out that 4 % of probants is dependent on complete help with daily activities, 3 % need partial help and 9 % of probants can hypothedcally be considered as „frailty". These percentages calculated within geriatric population of the whole county represents 707 people in the first group, 505 people in the second group and 1 615 people in the frailty group. These results are crucial for planning the further medical and social care in the county.
