Provedli jsme otevřenou studii k ověření účinku přípravku Elmetacin spray (Luitpold - Werk) v léčbě bolestivě iritované osteoartrózy drobných ručních kloubů. Třítýdenní studie se zúčastnilo 30 pacientů s OA rukou rentgenologicky průkaznou a bolestivě iritovanou, nemocni si přípravek aplikovali na klouby ruky 3krát denně. Hodnocena byla bolest klidová, pohybová a palpační bolestlVOSt, ranní ztuhlost a funkce ruky. Bolest klidová, pohybová i palpační bolestivost se významně zlepšila již po prvním týdnu léčby, ranní ztuhlost se významně zmírnila až po třech týdnech aplikace přípravku. Funkce ruky podle dotazníku funkčního indexu se významně zlepšila již po prvním týdnu terapie. Elmetacin spray se osvědčil v léčbě iritované OA drobných loičních kloubů.

The authors performed an open study to test the effect of the preparation Elmetacin spray (Luitpold-Werk) in the treatment of painful irritable osteoarthritis of the small joints of the hand. In the three-week study participated 30 patients with OA of the hand, confirmed on X-ray, painfully irritated. The patients applied the preparation three times per day on the joints of the hands. The patients evaluated pain at rest, during movement, on palpation, morning stiffness and the function of th hand. Pain at rest, during movement and on palpation improved significantly already after the first week of treatment, morning stiffness was much milder only after three weeks of application of the preparation. The function of the hand, according to the questionnaire of the functional index, improved significantly already after the first week of tretment. Elmetacin spray proved useful in the treatment of irritated OA of the small joints of the hands.
