Článek uvádí rozbor všech známých i nových vlivů, které se podílejí na výsledné léčbě pomocí komprese. Efekt terapie je také závislý na schopnostech pacienta a na teoretických i praktických dovednostech zdravotníků. Zásadní je výběr kompresních pomůcek, materiálu a jejich vlastností. Některé způsoby komprese (jako 4LB terapie) se u nás málo používají. Až nepřehledný soubor možných skutečností ovlivňujících léčbu vede k myšlence nezbytnosti měření a ke zkoumání nových technických možností zjistit, jakou vlastně kompresi používáme a optimalizovat ji jak vzhledem k diagnóze, tak k individualitě pacienta.

The article features analysis of all noted as well as new factors that influence treatment results by means of compression. The therapy outcome is last but not least dependent upon abilities of patient and on theoretic and practical skills of medical staff members. Selection of compression utilities, materials and their characteristics are fundamental. Some of compression means (like 4LB therapy) are sparsely used in the Czech Republic. Rather complicated set of variables biasing the therapy leads to the idea of measurement necessity to cogitate on new technical options revealing what for compression we actually use and to optimize it in relation to both diagnosis and patient indiviuality.
