Rýma a záněty vedlejších nosních dutin, které mj. významně zhoršují kvalitu života nemocného, patří bezesporu mezi nejčastější důvody návštěvy lékárny. Článek si proto klade za cíl seznámit čtenáře s možnostmi samoléčby rýmy a rhinosinusitidy pomocí volně prodejných přípravků a vhodných režimových opatření spojených nejen s léčbou, ale též prevencí tohoto onemocnění. V úvodu se text věnuje též příčinám rozvoje a symptomatologii zánětlivých onemocnění nosních dutin, jejichž znalost je nezbytnou pro volbu vhodné, tedy efektivní a bezpečné, terapie.

Rhinitis and inflammation of the nasal sinuses, which significantly deteriorate the quality of life of the patient, are among the mostfrequent reasons for visiting a pharmacy. This article introduces the reader to the possibilities of self-treatment of rhinitis andrhinosinusitis with the use of over-the-counter products and appropriate regimens associated with the treatment and preventionof this disease. In the introduction, the paper addresses the causes of inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavities developmentand symptomatology – their knowledge is essential for the choice of effective and safe therapy.
